We wanted to know, what would a board member of a major US corporation demand as the minimum qualifications for a new Chief Executive Officer? A corporation, say, with annual revenues exceeding $1B...that's B as in billion!! The results of our job search were quite illuminating.......ALL companies of this size, searching for a CEO, demanded no less than 5-10 years CEO or equivalent executive experience with provable, calibrated successes.
Now what if a company looking for a CEO had revenues approaching $2T...that's T as in TRILLION!!....In addition to the normal duties of a CEO....ie..P&L statements, shareholder value, regulatory compliance..etc..etc...this CEO position required the additional duties of:
a) Commander and Chief of the United States Military
b) The protection and safety of 300 million Americans
c) Charting the political course for the world's greatest
democracy
d) Final arbiter on use of the United State's vast nuclear arsenal
e) Negotiating international treaties
f) "Take care that all laws be faithfully executed.."
g) Appoint Supreme Court Justices and Ambassadors
h) Grant reprieves and pardons
i) Receive ambassadors from other nations
j) Set the tone for America throughout the world
What would the resume' of the candidate seeking this singularly unique Chief Executive position look like??...Surely it would have to be lengthy and impressive!

Overheard Making Anti-American Comments, 6 Men Taken Off US Plane
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Six passengers were removed from a departing flight Monday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and were taken for questioning by police, an airport spokesman said.
The passengers were boarding US Airways Flight 300, bound for Phoenix, around 6:30 p.m. when crew members "saw suspicious activity" by the men and called airport police, said the spokesman, Pat Hogan. Police escorted the men off the plane and took them to be questioned, he said.
A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, said Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. Police were called after the men refused requests by the captain and airport security workers to leave the plane.
The crew described the men as Middle Eastern in appearance, Hogan said, though he didn't immediately know where they were from.
